During the learning process, I realized a lot of things it happened because of the society tell us what is right and what is wrong, this clearly is not eligible long time ago as no one judge for the rightness or wrongness of an action. We do now know, people does not know why should we behave like this and there comes the sociological perspective, it is said to be the reason of the society influences us since young. We all come from different background, having different culture, embracing different religion & ethnicity, went through different experience, we learnt different stuff from all these factors, this is what make us special and original. But here is the question, why do we have all these beauty standards and gender standards.
Beauty standards refer to the ideal physical appearance of women, it is a goal for women strive to achieve and maintain the whole life. Ofcourse, the beauty standard is different for each region. For instance, Asian women always wanted to become whiter and slimmer. If you notice, Asian females never buy spray tan, they are always coated with sunscreen and spotted with umbrellas. In short, they are trying to avoid sun as much as possible. According to Nincha, having a white skin is an old Chinese beauty standard that stems from Ancient Chinese traditions. In ancient China, only the rich people had a white skin because they did not have to work in the fields like the peasants did. Their creamy, unblemished, white skin was proof they were of a different class. That’s why Chinese girls still nowadays want a white and smooth skin just like jade: to not be taken for a poor peasant. Not only that, Asian females are always looking to have "beach body", it means flat stomach, slim limbs and V face shape. It is popular for Asian to measure their beautiful-ness according to their weight and figure. On the other hand, western country have a very different beauty standards. They prefer girls with tan skin and curvy body which historically known as a symbol of wealth and high social class. But why should we care about the beauty standards? You are who you are, a female SHOULD NOT be rank by their body size, skin color and other physical features.

Gender standards is also one of the issue we have been discussed for such a long time yet it is a gossip to talk about. Society construct our gender roles, it kinda guide us how to behave, act, speak relation to our gender (female or male). In reality, we have gender besides female and male and they did not harm anyone at all, but why did the society discriminate them by labeling them as abnormal - QUEER?! The LGBT group are humans too, the only odd thing is their sexuality are different from cultural norms. Well, that is not something we can make fun of and it does not interfere your life isn't, so just let them be. What is wrong with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender? Love is love, no matter which gender you are sexually attracted to. I am not telling you to support them, but at least please do not oppose homosexual group. Sometimes, I felt like their love is way more sincere and loyal compared to heterosexual couple as they are brave enough to chase after what they really want. I genuinely hope that one day, the word homophobia will be eliminate completely.
Moreover, people also said that female are not as capable as male which is partially true. Yes, we are not as strong as men in terms of physical strength, but females are better in academic. Based on Matt Rocherlan's article, more women enrolled in college in this century. Patriarchy is no longer practice now although some of the region still strongly believe in this theory. Society is the one make us think about the gender role before we do, purchase something. Why must a girl learn cooking and a boy learn to fix electronics; Why is pink resemble girl and blue for boy; Why can't a girl be doing what usually boy's job vice versa. Here are some examples:
Agree or not? It's your choice.
