My working life - Review the dishes of S.Wine

Hello people, I guessed you know that I started working for S.Wine Tropicana City Mall since April as a Part time Waiter/Server or another fancy name - F&B Assisstant. So I have been brain storming for what to write in my blog, and this idea just pop up in my mind. I am going to write about all the food in the menu of S.Wine, without further ado, let's get started.

the entrance
my work place
Let's start off with appetizer first, soup and salad.
All soup come with a ciabatta (roast bread)
1) Pea & Ham Soup
2) Mushroom & Bacon Soup - nice but sometimes too salty

3) Bacon & Sausage Salad - mayo sauce and try it during lunch (cheaper) 10am-3pm
4) Thai Larb Salad - highly recommend but 70% of people dislike it, better try it fast because it will be eliminated in our upcoming menu
5) Thai pork neck & green mango salad - kinda sour but it will be balanced with the coconut dressing
6) S.wine house salad - only greens and its chef recommend, contain nuts
7) Balsamic chicken salad - soury (obviously hahah) and it is chicken breast, its the best choice for diet or sporty athletes.
8) Classic caesar salad - the best caesar salad in town, no comment needed
9) Bacon, poached chicken, mango salad - contain nuts, try it yourself
10) Warm pork confit, watermelon, lychee salad - 6 big pieces of roast pork, the dressing taste like thai style and a little bit spicy, refreshing, best seller among other salads.

Now is All-day Breakfast time! (10am to 6pm only)
1) Spanish Omelette - spanish sausage included (chorizo), which is very salty and chewy, I would give 3/10
2) Eggs Benedict - good
3) Mexicana pulled pork - its baked beans and pulled pork with a avocado spread ciabatta, normal only
4) French toast and grilled bananas - used to be famous since it's new and trendy back then, well now u can get it anywhere, nothing special
5) The english fry up - big breakfast, with good sausage, comes with a cup of FRESH orange juice and a cup of coffee or tea of your choice (choose from 10+), big portion and tasty

Mains and Asian Cuisine
1) Jerk pork shoulder - a little bit of spicy, chewy boneless meat and served with potato wedges, recommended
2) Pork sausages and sauerkraut rosti - 2 big italian sausages, the rosti is made of fried sour cabbage mix flour, it's very famous to eat with beer but the rosti is usually lefted since it is hard to accept by asians, try it out
3) Peaches & cream - take at least 20 minutes to cook, the sauce is sweet. T-bone meat
4) Pan-roasted pork chop with spinach - comes with mash potato with sauerkraut, best seller among mains
All asian cuisine served with rice and soup except for noodle
5) Chiffon egg roast pork - nothing special, try it as lunch set, feel free to add ginger onion sauce
6) Thai tom saab soup - glass noodle soup, clear tomyam, spicy, recommended
7) Nyonya assam pork curry - the curry is so good, pork kind of like too soft for me
8) Hainanese pork chop - fried pork chop with tomato based sauce, served with crinkle fries, kid's favourite
9) Thai style grilled pork neck - comes with mini Thai pork neck mango salad, can try
10) Grilled lemongrass pork chop - one of the best seller, 2 pieces pork chop, I have tried it and no idea why is this dish one of the best seller, so-so only
11) Braised pork belly - fatty meat is used, soft meat, elderly like it

Roast and Ribs (5pm onwards, ask the server because sometimes we can prepare for you before 5)
1) English pressed roast pork - square roast pork with red wine sauce, do not take away since it will be soften after some times
2) Whole slab bbq ribs with chips and slaw - 1.2 pork ribs (for sharing), highly highly recommended

Pastas
We only have spaghetti and macaroni
1) Bacon & salted egg carbonara - lots of our customer love this, eat when it is still hot, get it with lunch set
2) Spicy asian pesto - cooked with green spicy korean sauce, recommended
3) Larb pasta - try it before our new menu come up
4) Traditional carbonara - raw egg yolk and pamesan cheese on top, taste good
5) Pork bolognese - sufficient sauce and minced pork with pamesan cheese on top
6) Spicy bacon & mushroom - served with arugula (vegetables), aglio-olio style, best pasta and highly recommended
7) S.Wine mac & cheese - cheese lover gonna love this, 7 types of cheese inside, with bacon chunks, some said it's too cheesy, but for me it is so good, BEST MAC N CHEESE EVER
8) Chunky sausage & bacon - tomato cream based, love it

Sandwiches and Burgers
All comes with crinkle fries and coleslaw
1) Roast pork baguette - long french bread with coriander sauce, can skip this
2) Bacon, Chicken, Avocado sandwich - perfect for diet, chicken breast with cherry tomatoes on a baguette
3) Maple ham & cheese sandwich - freaking good
4) Larb burger - thai style pork patty with many herbs, have a try since this gonna be eliminated soon
5) Pulled pork burger - never try never know
6) BBQ cheeseburger with bacon - basic is the best, never have enough of this
7) S.Wine pork burger - basically is cheeseburger with pulled pork (for girl is a lil bit too much)
8) Porky mac & cheese burger - fried mac&cheese with bacon&sausage patty with pulled pork (only in S.Wine)

Grazing/Tidbits
1) Mr.crackles - choose from 3 sauces which are apple sauce (commonly choosed), coriander sauce (spicy) and salmarejo sauce, super oily and not so good
2) Bacon salt fries - just normal fries with bacon sprinkles on top, skip this
3) Salted egg fries - delicious, better to ask them give the sauce on the side, so that the bottom fries will not be dipped til soft
4) Roasted potato with bacon - nice and best with beer
5) Pork satay - 6 skewers and nothing special
6) Pigs in blanket - 5 mini garlic sausages wrapped with bacon, highly recommended
7) Complicated noodles - you will need to waste some energy and time to wrap minced pork, cucumber, rice noodles and coriander sauce on ice berg lettuce, it is troublesome, that is why we named it as complicated noodles, customer's favourite
8) Momofuku-inspired pork buns - damn nice, should try this, 2 pieces

Desserts
1) Bubur cha cha - yuck
2) Vanilla ice-cream & espresso with glass jelly - not worth the money, it is just affogato with cincau
3) Creme brulee with crispy bacon - egg pudding and sugar on top, eww
4) Bacon, strawberry & macadamia sundae - contain nuts, it is good
5) Cakes - we normally have black forest (best seller for cakes, but my opinion is just normal), mango pomelo (sponge cake with jelly-like layer, not good), classic chocolate cake (my favourite, served with vanilla ice-cream and chocolate syrup, try it without heating it up, ask the server to not heat it up), red velvet with bacon (the cake itself is better without bacon), brownies (comes with vanilla ice-cream) and carrot cake (contain nuts, only the top part is nice hahaha)

Drinks
Too much and ain't nobody got time to review on that but I can pick up some special drinks you should try.
1) Asam Boi Sprite
2)Lychee breeze
3) Mojito (a few of them)
4) Lemon Lime Bitter

That's all for this post, thanks for reading it.

A Journey to Ipoh 2016

Here is the post about our 1 day Ipoh trip. It was a very random and last minute trip we planned, it was a Saturday, so I had to cancel my work to join them. I have no regrets because it was worthy and been very busy for that few weeks so I took this opportunity to give myself some rest to be energize for finals.

We depart from my house around 8am and reach our first destination, which is Gunung Lang Recreational Park. You need to have a 3 minutes boat ride to reach the park, I'm kinda disappointed because the park is unexpectedly small, we just walk around and stop to take photos there. We finished visiting the whole park in 15 minutes, that was pretty fast isn't? In the park, there is some ostriches, deers, cows and LOTS of catfish in the pond.

We saw a mini playground right infront of the parking area and the kids, we as a bunch of childish humans spent around 10 minutes just to play around there. It was fun and luckily no one saw me doing this shit HAHAHAHA, or else it gonna be awkward and embarass to the max.

the first part of the obstacles
Then we headed to our next tourist attractions, Qing Xin Ling Leisure and Cultural Village. I thought it was some chinese temples or a mini recreation park, but turned out it was the best place among all others. All you need is just to pay RM6 for entrance fee. There are many bicycles, double people bicycle, tricycle to be ride. Not only that, lots of photo-worthy wall art to be found at here.

do you wanna join us for a ride with our lao ye car?

WHAT A LIE
Spending an hour here is definitely not enough, I could say you can stay 3 hours here. It's has multiples place to explore and ofcourse photo-taking sessions will used up your 2 hours here HAHAHA. For more information, you can look up at 10 things to do at QING XIN LING.

We were all hungry and exhausted after two tiring activities, we decide to have our lunch at the famous tauke chicken rice shop (Lou Wong) as Jin Yee and other websites suggested. Unfortunately, servers there had made us waited for 10 minutes even we raised our hands high up, they keep saying hold on over and over again. We were sort of pissed, so we just went off and my uncle's friend had brought him to another restaurant before which is really good, but then again, they closed down. Too bad, was thinking about just go any shop that is less crowded to eat. And we found this restaurant selling bean sprout chicken rice named Lou Leong, just right opposite Lou Wong. The food was just so-so, maybe I have too high hopes on them, but my brother love it a lot.

It was a rainy evening, we were about proceed to our next step, going to Concubine Lane (Yi Lai Hong). We followed the gps but still could not found Concubine Lane, I know that we are near, so we decided to just walk around maybe we can found that unintentionally. Then we went to Thean Chun kopitiam to have a drink, their cham and teh was so good. After paying, we asked the cashier to show us the direction to Concubine Lane, it was just right opposite HAHAH feel so stupid to ask afterward.
To be honest, I think this place is a bit overrated. Not much stuffs and shops to visit there, it is just a 100-150m path. We bought this cute cotton candy but the price was so freaking expensive, we spent RM5 for just 2 teaspoons of coloured sugar. That's the only thing we did at there.

that overprice cotton candy
Moreover, we walk to Kong Heng Square which is just right beside the kopitiam. If you see Plan B there, no doubt that is the Kong Heng Square. It is an retro style building, trees growing along the building everywhere, making the building shady under the blazing sun.

such a cutie oh god

my beloved popo <3

found this Mizu Shingen Mochi, RM5, not good at all

Don't tell people you went to Ipoh if you did not buy/try the popular salted chicken. The delicious level is like higher than the sky, what a freaking delicacy you must try once in your life time. We bought 2 from 2 different stall. The one from Aun Kheng Lim was RM20 and one from Happy Delicious 福禄寿 for RM19. We all thought the 1 ringgit will not have any different, but guess what the RM1 cheaper was better than the RM20. The chicken meat is much more tender and it fully absorb the sauce, so satisfied! So if you ever go Ipoh, buy the 怡保福禄寿 salted chicken. (I did not pay to promote hahaha) Finally, we back to our home sweet home.
