On my way to be successful.: May 2017

After reading the title, what comes in your mind? Someone's birthday? Family day? Church visit for the religious people? No no no, it is one of the biggest worldwide celebration, the MOTHER's DAY! Every year when the May is around the corner, sons and daughter around the world would be thinking of what should they send as a gift to their beautiful mommy and how can they make this special event a memorable one. The branded store, the florist, the bakery, the shopping malls and never forget the media would be involved to remind the sons and daughters about this remarkable day. However, have you ever wonder how is the second Sunday became an official mother's day?

Here comes the story, the earliest mother's day celebration started in 1600's at England. All servants would be given one day off every 'Mothering Sunday' for them to spend time with their moms. A cake called Mothering Cake was always taken along. In 1912, In United States, Anna Jarvis the founder of mother's day created the Mother's Day International Association and originated the practice of giving carnations to mothers. White for mothers who passed away and pink for those who still alive. This dedicated day was the idea of Julia Ward Howe back in 1872 as a way of honouring all mothers. Previous US president, Woofrow Wilson declared mother's day as a national holiday and display the national flag to show love for the mothers in 1914.

As known by everyone, the mother's day is commonly celebrated on the second Sunday of May. It is a day where tokens of appreciation are given to moms from their families. Today, celebration of mother's day are all about sending flowers bouquet, giving cards, gifting presents such as handbags, perfume, watches, jewelleries and visiting restaurant to express their gratitude of making their mommy feel special on this day. The actual meaning of mother's day is loosing and it is more towards commercializing nowadays. Nonetheless, we as children have to let her know that her wisdom, love and sacrifices are highly appreciated. We are always taking things for granted and if it was not for our moms, we would not be here today. Thank you for everything and I love you as much as you do to me.

On this splendid day, I spent my afternoon with my mom and other family members for a lunch at 顺德佬私方菜 near Sungai Long. The RM688 package include 8 course and additional RM20 for tea. 11 of us could not finish all the dishes so my cousin took the leftover for dinner trying hard to minimize the food wastage.

The goose is fatty itself so I rate a 6/10 for this dish.

There is a 腊味饭 and 海底椰龙眼糖水, I was busy eating till I forgot to snap the picture for you guys. It was a pleasant meal and a wonderful afternoon with my family. I made my mother a huge card, a popsicle sticks coaster and a marble-like chinese tea cup. I painted the coaster black and gold because I think my mom rock that two colours.

继上一册的台湾4人自由行。时间过得跟火箭升空的速度一样快，来到了第四天，因为有些地点不太方便老人家去，所以昨天晚上临时在查资料看哪里适合年长人的地方。经常听到别人说台湾人早餐都喜欢在便利商店搞定，所以今天就来靠近的7-11（台湾人叫seven）看看有什么可以饱肚的。没想到还真的有很多熟食, 三明治，便当，饭团，沙拉等等，还以为味道会普普，却那么得好吃。几乎每个便利商店里都具备好几个桌子和椅子供客人使用。

多人推荐的台湾必买手信（30元）

我真心不觉得好喝，不明白为什么那么多人喜欢。不只是我，我家人都不习惯那种怪怪的味道。我们分别喝了5种口味，没有一个是让我觉得可以接受的。我是认为这个下次你有拜访台湾的话，不用买来当手信。以上纯属个人意见，毕竟每个人的味蕾不同。

婆婆和妈妈分别买了九层塔意面（65元），烧鸡三明治（49元）和两杯卡布（45元一个）

吃饱饱了便走个12分钟的路程去总统府，因为觉得总统府建筑物好看。然后再走个5分钟来到西门红楼结果换来的是红楼标志和前面部分在装修，只有后面16工房和露天广场是开放的，有点小失望。

然后呢，我们乘搭的士到松山区五分铺逛逛顺便吃个午餐。我们12点就抵达，功课没做好，司机也没告诉我们五分铺都还没开。人生地不熟，结果随便找了个看起来不错的餐馆解决。用烫青菜，苦瓜肉汤，排骨酥汤冬粉，汤熬排骨和白饭来饱肚。在这儿买了6双短袜也才200元，还购入了3个内衣哈哈哈（100元一间）和妹妹最后一天穿得长裙,这件也太便宜了，100元而已！！！大约3点用两个小时就逛完了，里头有很多小巷，买的都是服饰，基本上都是只有小码的衣服（不适合我的身形)。看见还有时间，也没有什么地方想去，我们便回房子补眠。到了晚上我们才有上计程车到士林夜市走马看花。每个人都说一定要尝的士林炸鸡排，我觉得很普通而已，吃了会很口渴可能是因为放太多调味料。走了3/4次的西门町都没找着阿宗面线，在这里看见了，味道不错但没有到一吃难忘的感觉，类似鱿鱼羹的味道。想吃草莓冰但是在菜单上看见芒果冰，便抵挡不住诱惑点了芒果冰和红豆汤芋圆当饭后甜点。一直说想吃大肠包小肠，也有看见很多档口，可是每次想吃的时候都饱了，所以都没有尝到这个。

那么快就是我们的最后一天咯，早餐懒惰走，又回到昨天的7-11吃早餐。买了起司牛肉盖饭，鸡肉咖喱饭，还有昨天的三明治。吃完了不够，还买一条以为是冰淇淋的冰棒, 有点贵一支要18元，马来西亚才70sen - 1令吉。去机场前我们到附近的面包店买一些待会吃，除了面包他们还卖点心和一些卤味。拿了个牛蒡天妇罗来吃，是好吃的。

到机场后点了两碗的拉面来吃，有点咸，但整体不错。司机大哥有说我们来的前两天都下雨，但我们来5天的天气都很好，没有下雨。只是最后两天要进入夏季比较热了。接下来就是战利品分享，在药妆店买了一系列吴依林美发专家的头发喷雾和头皮清理的液体。也带回Kate's底妆液和韩国B-lab洁面膏，买B-lab是因为它的包装太好看了，很吸引我，而且不贵（25元）。然后在诚品专柜买了2瓶去角质膏（4000元），母亲节优惠送多一瓶和4片天价面膜（那个50片要12500元）。在国父纪念堂外看见这个网球（350元），是可以一个人玩，也给买下来了。妈妈还要买拍子（650元）给妹妹，幸好我阻止了，会马来西亚也有卖何必带那么重的回来。

在便利商店买了几种纯粹奶茶（那时还没喝），破费了，又不好喝。奶茶要买3点1刻的冲泡装，非常好喝，顺口又不是太甜，后悔只有买一包。建议要买手信的可以找士林夜市里摆档的爵林。它们家的凤梨酥，杏仁酥，花生糖，牛轧糖都很好吃，也比西门町的便宜地点，买多还能送你小分装的。台湾的牛轧糖都不粘牙，牛奶味较重，因此我更喜欢澳大利亚的牛轧糖。海燕窝，姜茶，蒟蒻，牛轧饼，杏仁粉和薏仁粉都在九份买的。姜茶的话要买紫色包装的，有红枣和桂圆的最好喝。牛轧饼卖太少了，今天就已经把它吃剩1/3。
