A Journey to Ipoh 2016

Here is the post about our 1 day Ipoh trip. It was a very random and last minute trip we planned, it was a Saturday, so I had to cancel my work to join them. I have no regrets because it was worthy and been very busy for that few weeks so I took this opportunity to give myself some rest to be energize for finals.

We depart from my house around 8am and reach our first destination, which is Gunung Lang Recreational Park. You need to have a 3 minutes boat ride to reach the park, I'm kinda disappointed because the park is unexpectedly small, we just walk around and stop to take photos there. We finished visiting the whole park in 15 minutes, that was pretty fast isn't? In the park, there is some ostriches, deers, cows and LOTS of catfish in the pond.

We saw a mini playground right infront of the parking area and the kids, we as a bunch of childish humans spent around 10 minutes just to play around there. It was fun and luckily no one saw me doing this shit HAHAHAHA, or else it gonna be awkward and embarass to the max.

Then we headed to our next tourist attractions, Qing Xin Ling Leisure and Cultural Village. I thought it was some chinese temples or a mini recreation park, but turned out it was the best place among all others. All you need is just to pay RM6 for entrance fee. There are many bicycles, double people bicycle, tricycle to be ride. Not only that, lots of photo-worthy wall art to be found at here.

do you wanna join us for a ride with our lao ye car?

The big green pond surrounded by mountains that is full of tree give me a feeling of peaceful, remind me of oogway's favourite place for meditation. To be honest, I hope I can have a picnic there, the nature scenery is fantastic.

WHAT A LIE
Spending an hour here is definitely not enough, I could say you can stay 3 hours here. It's has multiples place to explore and ofcourse photo-taking sessions will used up your 2 hours here HAHAHA. For more information, you can look up at 10 things to do at QING XIN LING.

We were all hungry and exhausted after two tiring activities, we decide to have our lunch at the famous tauke chicken rice shop (Lou Wong) as Jin Yee and other websites suggested. Unfortunately, servers there had made us waited for 10 minutes even we raised our hands high up, they keep saying hold on over and over again. We were sort of pissed, so we just went off and my uncle's friend had brought him to another restaurant before which is really good, but then again, they closed down. Too bad, was thinking about just go any shop that is less crowded to eat. And we found this restaurant selling bean sprout chicken rice named Lou Leong, just right opposite Lou Wong. The food was just so-so, maybe I have too high hopes on them, but my brother love it a lot.

It was a rainy evening, we were about proceed to our next step, going to Concubine Lane (Yi Lai Hong). We followed the gps but still could not found Concubine Lane, I know that we are near, so we decided to just walk around maybe we can found that unintentionally. Then we went to Thean Chun kopitiam to have a drink, their cham and teh was so good. After paying, we asked the cashier to show us the direction to Concubine Lane, it was just right opposite HAHAH feel so stupid to ask afterward.
To be honest, I think this place is a bit overrated. Not much stuffs and shops to visit there, it is just a 100-150m path. We bought this cute cotton candy but the price was so freaking expensive, we spent RM5 for just 2 teaspoons of coloured sugar. That's the only thing we did at there.

that overprice cotton candy
Moreover, we walk to Kong Heng Square which is just right beside the kopitiam. If you see Plan B there, no doubt that is the Kong Heng Square. It is an retro style building, trees growing along the building everywhere, making the building shady under the blazing sun.

such a cutie oh god

found this Mizu Shingen Mochi, RM5, not good at all

Don't tell people you went to Ipoh if you did not buy/try the popular salted chicken. The delicious level is like higher than the sky, what a freaking delicacy you must try once in your life time. We bought 2 from 2 different stall. The one from Aun Kheng Lim was RM20 and one from Happy Delicious 福禄寿 for RM19. We all thought the 1 ringgit will not have any different, but guess what the RM1 cheaper was better than the RM20. The chicken meat is much more tender and it fully absorb the sauce, so satisfied! So if you ever go Ipoh, buy the 怡保福禄寿 salted chicken. (I did not pay to promote hahaha) Finally, we back to our home sweet home.
